Slithy Okrian Stoku

To translate this post’s heading, make tracks for the Book Show on Radio National to see/hear my lukewarm review of a peculiar mishmash by author Ben Okri. Almost 20 years since grabbing a Booker for The Famished Road, the Nigerian-Pom has spliced together stories and haikus to create his very own literary genre: the stoku. Not a hybrid set to last I’m afraid. Think more splayd, than labradoodle.

And for regular browsers to this blog, good news. Most of the Wicked Web Witches have fled the forest, leaving me free to post at will – and at length – and allowing you good souls to comment when the spirit moves you. Thanks for your patience, and your word-of-mouth. The Cassowary is back in its natural habitat.
