Oink, Oink (BB239)

If plunder in Pig Latin is underplay (where the opening consonant cluster is moved to the end, and the ‘ay’ sound added), can you ‘latinise’ your first answer to make your second?

Ruins/snap a snap?

XXX WARNING – SPOILER ALERT XXX

Not so much a spoiler, as a straight out attempt at the answers:

    Joe/OJ
    wonder/underway
    sass/assay
    stout/outstay
    wrecks/X-ray
??? root/outre (probably not the intended answer but it’s not a bad description of Billie Holiday’s demise) ???
    lout/outlay
    wear/airway
    sun/unsay

  2. Mauve Says:

If my wife found me using one of these it would be the end of my holiday so I’ll offer

    trash/ashtray

  3. DA Says:

Maybe you could holiday in Stradbroke? Good pickup.

  4. marmaloid Says:

I thought the answer really was trash/ashtray, and it was a bad taste joke, until i looked it up and found out that billie holiday wasn’t cremated

  5. marmaloid Says:

    oh, i get it now…

never heard of stradbroke though, not in a non-geographical sense anyway

  6. DA Says:

There’s a cautionary tale within STRADBROKE, one we’d be wise to heed in these days of fraught finances. After the fiddle comes bankruptcy…all your dreams up in smoke.

Stradbroke must be the Aussie equivalent of St Moritz and Pall Mall.
