I’m stuck on the second one and the last one,
though my answer differs with X for the fourth one (mine begins with C)
are there really any portmanteaus in there? or merely compound words…

By portmanteau, I believe Mr X is referring to the dovetailing of phrase with a new word, is all.
Is your C for Chalk? All will be revealed in BB244.

You’re right marmaloid – I should referred to compound words rather than portmanteaus.
