The George (Best)

Naomi Paul?

(Watts Newman, as Mr X freshly coined.)

Well, I’m married to an SBS quiz show is what’s new – a frolicsome time-soak at this early stage – so can’t be trusted to be as steadfast in responses and general blog upkeep.

That’s not an excuse, but a plea for patience. In the coming weeks, with a new website on the workbench, and TV-ville holding your correspondent hostage, I hope you’ll see your way clear of carping, or despairing, or wondering if DA is lying under an institutional sheet.

I’m still here, just not so often. And I’m still chuffed to host these Penelope [Lively] Storms, and all the other Cassowary attractions, just not as palpably. But this shambolic service level will be brief sorrow. To paraphrase Con the Fruiterer, coupla weeks, things’ll be bewdiful.

Now to the Celebese Storm, where entries were scarce but distinguished. Great to see DK dancing back on the canvas, and JD – wonderful to meet you at the studio last week.  (Let’s hope the set can keep pace with the performers next session.) Mauve: your blend of scholarship and whip-smarts has afforded some lasting smirks, while X, your week-in-week-out bravura is pleasure to behold. As for the Priam among Trojans, DG – we missed you.

John (So), the Franz [Liszt]:

Bronze Bling to JD for opening a rich literary vein in the guise of:

Debra Dennis and the Elliot Martin [webmaster’s privileges applied]

Silver Sequins to Mauve for his Campbell’s Soup flashback:

‘Do you eat your chunky minestrone Reese or a Peter?’

Gold Relox [pirate brand] to Mr X for his schimple but schtunning schtick:

‘John first, Jessica second….’

Birdbrain tomorrow, and Lord knows what next week!

  1. JD Says:

It’s certainly interesting viewing television from the inside. Hardly the glamour industry it purports to be. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product in a few weeks. Once again, an enjoyable Storm with quality entries all round. Cheers, JD

  2. DG Says:

What does the Priam allusion mean?

  3. DA Says:

King of the Trojans. Therefore the dynamo – the archetypal hard worker. Most Storms seem to trigger your own creative storms.
